Did you want a beautiful inspiration for spending an unusual night not far from Toulouse? A dovecote converted into a romantic cottage opened in the spring of 2014 in the charming hamlet of Mas d’Aspech, south of the Lot, near Saint Cirq Lapopie and the picturesque Lot Valley. At the crossroads of Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne, and Aveyron, here is a great base for exploring this part of Midi-Pyrénées.
On the agenda: bucolic relaxation in the natural setting surrounding the dovecote and a romantic night under one of the clearest skies in Europe.
After climbing the few steps of its metal staircase, you find yourself inside the cottage with this gentle sense of being 2m above the meadow. Double bed, rustic chic style, spa shower and toilets, dining area and its mini kitchen. Outside, deck chairs, tables, and chairs will allow you to share relaxation and meals, like the morning snack offered on the first night.
The nearby inn offers you the chance to enjoy – or have delivered – authentic cuisine made from fresh local produce. Depending on the season, it might be a quiche with little Rocamadour cheese or summer truffle, Quercy black truffle, organic veal, Quercy lamb, or estofish! A Lot recipe made with cod. Food lovers won’t say no to a crème brûlée, walnut cake, and other treats prepared with care and simplicity.
