Unusual night in New York
Presentation
Practical information
Experience Thomas Stevenson's bivouac on the rooftops of New York.
This could be an anecdotal and fun place for a night. But Thomas Stevenson's Bivouac New York stems from a long reflection on community and hospitality, recurring themes for this artist and designer who now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
There, he observed the ever-moving streets, overcrowded buildings, and the contrast between this population density and the immensely empty landscape of the rooftops. His project of sharing space was born this way.
A unique bivouac experience that also restores the true value of direct exchanges between people, the feeling of being disconnected from this world connected to social networks to better live in the present moment.
During the 3rd edition (2013), Boston joined the bivouac. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Zurich, Stockholm, or Berlin might host the following editions thanks to you. Do you have access to a rooftop suitable for the experience? To share your find, feel free to contact Thomas Stevenson. To follow the news and immerse yourself in his creations, click here.
The experience usually takes place between late spring and early summer. Each time for a week, knowing that "reservations" are made about ten days in advance ... stay tuned :)

In 2016, as in other years, the experience is free! The camp is located on the 5th floor of a building without an elevator; it consists of five tents (three sleeping places) designed by Thomas Stevenson.
It is advisable to bring your sleeping bag, thick sweater, and hat. A kitchen area, a large table, everything is planned to share what everyone will bring.
The use of mobile phones, tablets, and other technologies is naturally limited to real emergencies only, as one would expect.
