Unusual accommodation in New York
Presentation
Practical information
From factory to hotel, a colorful address in Long Island.
An industrial place, a real one, just a few stations away from Midtown Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Behind the red bricks of this Queens building, a long industrial history was written.
Pilot Radio Company starting in 1922, then with the rise of the press industry during the war, it became a paper factory and warehouse that used the 8000 m2 on 36th Street.
By the 1970s, the site was abandoned and fell into disrepair inexorably.
Until 2012 when developer Gal Sela bought the site to rehabilitate it in a pure post-industrial style.
The hotel retains the original architecture with bricks, concrete floors, and wood. The parquet and furniture have been reused, the huge factory windows restored, the ceiling height preserved, and the result is here: 122 spacious and bright rooms.
What we love: the family rooms for coming with the whole tribe to visit The Big Apple and the lobby with its spectacular column of books and beautiful old machines that highlight the site's past.
