First floating hotel in London, a social and solidarity project.

Imagine a repurposed floating platform, industrial design, and a unique location on the Thames: Good Hotel London has just opened its doors in autumn 2016 at the Royal Victoria Dock in Newham, east London.

This barge, originally built in 2007 to house illegal immigrants in the Netherlands, has now been converted into a social and solidarity project. The Dutch group Good Hospitality has settled here for 5 years with the philosophy of training and integrating long-term unemployed individuals into hospitality professions.

After a successful first year in Amsterdam, the boat-hotel (8 million kilos) crossed the North Sea and sailed up the Thames to anchor in the docks: 148 rooms, a lounge open daily to gather, have a drink, or dine (including local beers, salads). From the green rooftop terrace, another bar with a classic menu offers the chance to discover new views of the Thames, London, and Canary Wharf.
