Unusual guesthouse in Geneva

Practical information
Sleeping aboard a luxurious catamaran on Lake Geneva? Boarding in Geneva for anchoring offshore.
In early 2014, Geneva welcomes a major novelty. The Juusan (which means Thirteen in Japanese), a luxurious catamaran, docks at Eaux-Vives.
100 m from the Jet d'Eau, the sailboat of the FloatInn company is transformed into a Bed&Breakfast between November and March, a floating hotel that will take you to spend the night offshore. From April to October, if it is not on a cruise, you can try your luck for a 'Bed&Breakfast last minute'.
Built in La Rochelle, this impressive sailboat (a Sanya 57) arrived in July 2013 in Canet-en-Roussillon. With over 17 meters long and nearly 9 meters wide, a very exceptional night convoy transported it to Switzerland, before it was launched into the water at the port of Sciez, the only one capable of accommodating it to reach the port of Eaux-Vives in Geneva.
Jean-Luc Oestreicher, a 51-year-old former physiotherapist behind the project, aims to expand the offer of lakeside hospitality. With six cabins, this high-end sailboat offers eleven additional beds around Lake Geneva, five double rooms with private bathrooms and showers, or a standard room -for one or two people- with a smaller bathroom.
The Juusan, with its skipper, crew, and restaurant service, is also available for discovery cruises of lakeside sites and monuments, to follow regattas like the Bol d'Or, admire the fireworks of the Geneva Festival, or enjoy a romantic dinner. It's up to you to invent the ideas that go with it!
