Sleeping in an eagle's nest

Practical information
A mountain hut to discover Ticino differently.
Odro, an alpine pasture on the slopes of Piz Vogorno (Ticino), comes back to life, and that's enough to make Jean-Louis happy.
Once inhabited by mountain farmers for whom hay was the only wealth, the hamlet of Odro is reborn thanks to this passionate man from Jura who left everything to live in his 'little paradise.' A paradise that must be earned, as it takes nearly two hours of walking to reach it and finally discover the view it offers of Lake Maggiore and the pristine nature at an altitude of 1240m.
Upon discovering the place in 1983, Jean-Louis began restoring these cottages. Their history is told through the usual and worn-out objects that Jean-Louis keeps. Armed with courage, with the help of volunteers and some money, he magnificently restored the small stone houses so typical of the region. Since 1996, he has lived there year-round, continues his work, and operates the alpine pasture with a herd of goats. He is also an innkeeper, as he hosts passing guests in two alpine houses.
On the way back, perhaps you'll be tempted by the descent to San Bartolomeo with the Bardughé funicular, here is a preview (director Paolo Giovannini).
Alpine life, an ecological and sustainable tourism experience for the whole family. Agritourism, a different way to discover the treasures of Switzerland.
