White Desert Antartica

White Desert Antartica

Luxury hotel in Antarctica

Presentation Practical information
The very exclusive expedition to Antarctic land that is fully booked.

If Antarctica is indeed the last wild continent on Earth, four times a year, about ten people depart from Cape Town (South Africa) to head to the Great South, discovering Queen Maud Land, a territory claimed by Norway. After a 5-hour-and-30-minute flight aboard the private fleet, a new world opens up to visitors: the camp of the hotel created by Patrick and Robyn Woodhead, set against the backdrop of the rocky peaks of Orvin Fjella (over 3,000 meters above sea level) and landscapes of breathtaking beauty.

A temporary camp, carbon-neutral, powered by solar panels, and designed to leave no trace when the tourist season ends. Located on the edge of a frozen lake, the 10 Pods - fiberglass domes - house 5-star suites (designer furniture, private bathrooms, essential heating) and common areas, such as the brand-new, very stylish dining room. Guests gather there as privileged visitors around the chef's menu, who previously worked on F1 circuits. A lounge, library, and bar are also part of the new additions to celebrate White Desert's 10th anniversary.
Among the 16 staff members are, of course, mountaineers and high mountain guides. They supervise unique activities and adapt them to the desires of their prestigious guests (for the record, Prince Harry or the Saudi royal family have stayed there): trekking, kite-skiing, climbing, crevasse rappelling, spelunking in blue ice caves, and excursions into ephemeral galleries carved by meltwater. The highlights of the stay are undoubtedly the discovery of the colony of 6,000 penguins about 2 hours by plane from the hotel and one of the most difficult-to-access sites on Earth... The South Pole. The following night is spent in one of the tents at the Amundsen-Scott scientific base before returning to the luxury of White Desert, a 7-hour flight away.

With four expeditions per year, White Desert has been fully booked for the past three years, despite its extraordinary price.
