Traveling in the company of elephants
Presentation
Practical information
Unusual trip to combine luxury stay and elephant observation in their natural habitat.
For a change from the traditional safari to encounter elephants in the heart of the savannah, why not head to Asia and share the daily life of these gentle giants?
Welcome to the Golden Triangle, once infamous for its opium and heroin production, and today recognized for its tropical beauty.
In order to save these pachyderms and provide mahouts and their families with a decent standard of living, the Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas chain founded in 2003 an elephant camp modeled after traditional mahout villages. *
Today, about thirty animals are located next to the Resort. Several options are offered for discovering them in their natural environment.
Whether it's for a picnic on the surrounding hills, a day discovering the life of a mahout, a walk at sunrise or sunset, we bet that meeting the elephants will delight both young and old.
Beware! One of them might just join you for breakfast ;-)
..:: New in 2020 ::.. Two fully transparent bubbles have just opened to observe these elephants even more, amidst starry skies and dense vegetation.
