Itinerant guest boat
Presentation
Practical information
The motto of this beautiful Hagenaar from 1908: people on land have the watch, we have the time!
From its Dutch origins, L’Elisabeth has retained all its specific features. Initially a sailing cargo ship, this Hagenaar, which means 'from The Hague', was motorized a few years after its construction (1908).
Dominique and François chose to settle aboard this beautiful Hagenaar in 2007. To experience life on the move aboard a boat, they cast off, leaving their house and their life along the Loire River.
Follow their journey and hop aboard during a stopover!
Starting in August 2015, the guest boat will leave the port of Colmar heading towards the Canal du Midi, where it will winter before heading to Morbihan in spring 2016.
L’Elisabeth celebrated its 100th anniversary, boasts its label as a Boat of Heritage Interest, and continues to sail on estuaries and oceans or motor along canals and rivers. On board, three cabins await you, and judging by the menu, the table d’hôtes is a gourmet delight... At the beginning of June, acacia fritters, homemade limoncello, stuffed quails and sautéed mushrooms, two-fish terrines, and rhubarb meringue tart awaited the guests in the large saloon. Convinced?
✯ Open all year round ✯
..:: 2016 and 2017 Itineraries ::..
After a winter break at the port of Montauban (82), the guest boat set off for new encounters: from the Port Canal of Montauban to Toulouse and then Bordeaux via the Garonne Canal before reaching Brittany by sea.
The Bateau Elisabeth will be until March 2017 at the Toregaï quay on the island of Versailles in Nantes. A symbolic address since this island once housed naval carpenters. Today, the island has been transformed into a magnificent Japanese garden. Starting in spring, the crew will sail towards the Vilaine: La Roche Bernard, Redon, the surroundings of Rennes.
