Hôtel-Dieu Lyon

Hôtel-Dieu Lyon

Hotel project in Lyon

Presentation
A project for redevelopment on the banks of the Rhône.

The Hôtel-Dieu is undoubtedly a landmark building in the history and city center of Lyon. More than 51,000 m2 and nearly 400 meters of facade bordering the Rhône on the Quai Jules Courmont, listed since 2011.

It is a long-term project for Eiffage, transforming the edifice of Lyon's peninsula into an urban project where a 5* hotel in the Soufflot wing (designed by architect Jean-Philippe Nuel), a gastronomy city, a restaurant by Paul Bocuse within the former refectory of the hospitable sisters, a shopping center and offices, a convention center and museum space under the Petit Dôme, the oldest part of the site, will coexist.

The entrance to the 5* Intercontinental hotel, the centerpiece of the new site, will be through the quay via a vestibule located under the Grand Dôme. This will lead to the two Soufflot wings providing access to the 140 rooms.

What a renewal since the Pont du Rhône hospital -the first hospital in Lyon built in 1184- for this achievement, which was realized with the opening of the Intercontinental Lyon in the spring of 2019.
