Unusual stay and night in Houat Island
Do you know what the common point is between the Chaussey archipelago, the islands of Batz, Houat, or Aix? Along with 9 other islands bathed by the English Channel or the Atlantic, they form the great archipelago of the Ponant Islands, "where the sun sets" and are permanently inhabited.
Setting foot on an island is always a precious moment. In Houat, as in Sein, carts cross paths on the port, lobster pots pile up on the docks, and alleys weave between white houses with blue shutters. Here, about thirty families live from fishing; Houat is an island of fishermen. "Ag er mor e viuamb" ("from the sea, we live") says the motto.
You reach Houat after a 45-minute crossing from Quiberon, and you wander on the trails, cycle around, observe the wildlife, and admire the sea.
