Sleep in the heart of a nature reserve
Presentation
Practical information
Between the thousands of stars in the South African sky and the wildlife.
The Kruger National Park is the largest wildlife reserve in South Africa. A wildlife sanctuary as large as half of Switzerland, and one of the largest in the world, in fact.
Seven private concessions are part of it, including Sabi Sand and its 65,000 ha in the southern part of the national park, a region very renowned for its spectacular safaris.
It is precisely on the banks of the Sabi River that the private reserve Lion Sands Game Reserve is located. It has been owned by the same family for 4 generations, and the three Treehouses, real open-air bedrooms, emphasize the connection that great-grandfather Chalkley had with these lands.
The Chalkley Treehouse is named after Guy Aubrey Chalkley and was built on the very spot where he saved himself by climbing trees to escape predators of the plains. The bedroom is set on a platform and overlooks the bush. You are alone in the world, surrounded by wildlife.
In the same spirit, the Tinyeleti Treehouse offers the experience of sleeping so close to the Sabi River that the animals coming to drink there seem within reach. A wildlife experience that can also be shared with children.
The Kingstone Treehouse stands out with its glass walls and real bathroom. The small drawbridge lifts up like closing a door, and the incredible view of the bush and wildlife takes on a whole new dimension.
For these three treehouses, the transfer from the main lodge is provided by a ranger.
