The Maya Boutique Hotel is the first European hotel built entirely from straw bales. Contrary to popular belief, straw, once properly compacted between walls and covered with lime, is absolutely non-flammable.
Used for the exterior walls and partitions between rooms, it provides good thermal insulation, making the house energy-passive (recovering heat from the stove and bread oven) as well as excellent sound insulation, a significant detail that contributes to the tranquility of the place. Environmental respect extends to the furniture construction, done manually with local wood species, and the provision of an electric vehicle if you arrive by public transport. Located at the entrance of the Val d'Hérens, on the heights of the village of Nax Mont-Noble (the Balcony of the Sky), this guesthouse offers a superb panorama of the Bernese Alps and the Rhône Valley and a Scandinavian Spa area (traditional Scandinavian sauna and hot tub reserved for private use, hot stone or relaxing massage).

Rates 2021, double rooms from 190 CHF.Breakfast with seasonal and local products served as a buffet from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, earlier or later upon request.
7 double rooms all with views of the Alps and the village. King-size bed, memory foam mattress, feather duvets and pillows (synthetic on request). Bathrobes, Bio Ecocert toiletries, hairdryer, walk-in shower. Minibar, tea maker, and Nespresso machine.
