The unusual accommodations of the Domaine de l'Ogliastru
Presentation
Practical information
Guard tower for heart to heart at the summit.
Between unspoiled nature with lush maquis, sublime fine sandy beaches, and wild coves, Valinco is one of the most typical regions of Corsica, a land perfect for discovering its gastronomy, wine, culture, and rich heritage.
And we are taking you precisely to one of the famous so-called Genoese towers that encircled the Corsican coastline.
Both watchtowers to monitor the sea and fortresses of defense against pirates who plundered the villagers' wealth, they were built in the 16th century under the authority of the Genoese governors of Corsica on absolutely remarkable sites.
Of the hundred watchtowers that once existed, 67 are still standing today, including the Tour génoise de Micalona, now restored, on the road to Filitosa: the four levels of the tower house two bedrooms and the living room located in the former guardroom.
At the top, the terrace—where once the warning fire signaling danger was lit—reveals its magical 360° view of the Gulf of Valinco, the Taravo River, and the Corsican mountains.
And with this superb view of the sea from your exclusive pool set into the rock, we warn you, it is hard to resist a tête-à-tête here.
