Photographers' perspectives on the city: a hotel where photography is participatory!
Next-Trad Anglais : Situated right next to Place Stéphanie and Avenue Louise, the neighborhood is quiet for this new hotel opened at the end of 2014 by the same team as the nearby Vintage Hôtel: Bernard Wilmet, Fabian Henrion, and Michel Penneman, their go-to decorator architect.
To dress up this 4* hotel with a photography theme, a contest called 'Human, Urban in Brussels' was launched on social media. Both amateurs and professionals sent in over 400 visuals, 37 of which are now printed in black-and-white panoramic format on canvases to adorn the headboards of the rooms. The others are displayed in smaller formats on various surfaces throughout the hotel.
In the lobby, for example, alongside a showcase of vintage cameras, cinema seats, repurposed projectors, and other upcycled objects, interactivity is also part of the experience.
Connecting and projecting your own photos onto the hotel's interactive walls is the very essence of the participative photography concept envisioned by the team. Guests can enjoy this from breakfast to tasting a beer at the end of the day at the Beer House, a Beer Bar that's not limited to hotel guests and dares to pair a selection of 50 beers (including the legendary Trappist Westvleteren abbey beer) with chocolate, naturally Belgian!
With its furniture made from a tubing system, matte black finishes, and touches of yellow, the Zoom Hotel exudes an industrial yet cozy atmosphere (yes, it's possible!) that's perfect for discovering Brussels through fresh perspectives.
