Unusual hotel in Vienna
Presentation
Practical information
A wonderful urban retreat in the center of Vienna.
In this great mix of genres that Vienna offers its visitors, the Hotel Daniel is an urban refuge with inventive and simple decor. The references to travel and freedom are numerous, like the beehives and apple trees on the roof, the Vespas and bicycles rented for the day, an Airstream caravan set up as a room outside, or even the sailboat docked on the roof that leans, bends, and seems drawn to the void. A work by Austrian artist Erwin Wurm, titled "Unconceivable," of which another permanent example can be admired at the lock on the Martinière canal (artistic itinerary 'Estuaire Nantes<>Saint-Nazaire').
Right next to the main train station, the Hotel Daniel is recognizable by its glass and aluminum facade. Inside, its vintage furniture and somewhat quirky "homemade" decor contrast with the baroque style of the nearby Belvedere Palace.
In the 115 rooms, open bathrooms, wooden walls, cozy duvets, and a sleek design with a neo-Scandinavian touch.
In the garden stands an adorable 1952 Airstream. Decorated by boat interior designers, 16m2 feels more spacious; a double bed with a garden view and a bathroom with its bathtub. Air conditioning, heating, Wi-Fi connection, it's fun and reflects the hotel's spirit.
The restaurant The Bakery draws crowds for its Sunday brunch: homemade cakes and pastries, fresh herbs, garden vegetables and fruits, international cuisine. Breakfasts are served from 6:30 am -yes, that's early!-. At the hotel shop, it's hard to resist the honey, shampoo, or men's shirt in the hotel's colors, so we give in and extend our Viennese getaway by bringing back souvenirs from this exquisite address.
