One floor, one artist
Presentation
Practical information
A Parisian stay in the form of a phantasmagoria.
Dreamlike patterns unfold on the walls, improbable collages from which funny characters emerge…
Let yourself be seduced and carried away by the game of the Cadavre Exquis.
Rue de Charonne, in a district popular with antique dealers, the Hotel Exquis immerses you in an unusual universe. Decorated by the visual artist Julie Gauthron, the venue is as unique as the works specially created for the rooms by 8 artists from the Le M.U.R. (*) collective. Each floor has its own ambiance.
At the Hotel Exquis, every room feels like an extravagant dream. The elegant design of the furniture sourced from the Saint-Ouen flea market provides a counterpoint to the explosive, tangy colors of the walls and the artworks displayed on them.
The strange foliage, the Hokusaï-like waves, or the bird silhouettes of the decor will no doubt inspire intriguing dreams for the sleeper. They will lead lovers to exquisite dreamlike lands. Whether coming from afar or living in Paris, there's nothing surreal about giving in to this psychedelic cocoon that makes you forget where you are.
To get back to reality, travelers can then stroll through the streets of Bastille or the Marais: they will be surprised by the energy radiating from these two neighborhoods, full of bohemian cafes and trendy boutiques.
(*) Le M.U.R. (Modular, Urban, Reactive Association), a collective of street artists, notably invests the wall located at the corner of Rue Saint-Maur and Rue Oberkampf.
Every month, or every two months, an artist draws, pastes, cuts, sticks, or paints this open-air museum that replaces the two former 4X3 advertising billboards at the Charbon corner.
Over 200 murals since 2007.
