A glass ryokan in Catalan Country
Presentation
Practical information
Sensory journey in one of the 5 glass and steel pavilions.
When Fina Puigdevall, head chef of the restaurant Les Cols, converted the ground floor of the masía, the traditional Catalan farmhouse where she was born, the 13th-century building took on a futuristic appearance. A black and gold setting, highlighting both the raw and the precious, reflecting this authentic, traditional, and refined cuisine.
The most demanding gourmets love and advocate continuing this hedonistic experience. A trio of Catalan architects, RCR Arquitectes, captures the source of Fina Puigdevall's culinary inspiration and designs the five glass refuges on the family land.
Five minimalist glass cubes, separated from each other by laminated glass screens and metal rods, offer us the chance to spend a night in communion with nature and the natural elements: water trickling down the walls, earth evoked by volcanic lava paving stones, air and fire present through the rays of the sun.
A Japanese-inspired atmosphere with a futon placed on the glass floor and a water area inspired by the onsen or thermal baths derived from volcanic springs.
It must be said that Olot has hidden treasures. Halfway between Perpignan and Barcelona, we are in the heart of the volcanic region of La Garrotxa, far from mass tourism.
