Arty and unusual accommodation in Porto
Presentation
Practical information
Arty budget hotel (or even free).
In Porto, the historic Bolhão district is still amazed.
The Zero Box Lodge opened at the end of 2018 next to Ribeira Square with an atmosphere dedicated to Portuguese culture and art and a true uniqueness that lies in its ultra-simple, all-wooden rooms called 'Box', in other words, boxes.
There are three categories. Zero is a windowless room with a private bathroom and a double bed, One is a Zero but with a window, and Two is a larger and more comfortable version of One.
A library containing only the works of Portuguese writer Gonçalo M. Tavares but translated into more than thirty languages, surprises to discover at the bottom of the pool (hence the presence of a mask and snorkel in each room), an old safe filled with zero-dollar bills, astonishing characters created by artist Paulo Rammuni, and breakfast served from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. are among the hotel's amusing extravagances.
The ultimate concept that will attract the attention of the most creative and daring: the Free Room, a glass replica of a 'Zero' box installed at the hotel's entrance, offers a free stay to anyone wishing to turn their rest hours into an art installation.
Submit your cultural and innovative proposals in the most diverse and surprising formats; all projects are reviewed by the hotel.
