Unique cabins in Morbihan

Practical information
Unique Folly in enchanted lands
Unique place in France, this Belle Folie opened in the heart of a forest in the small town of Ploëmel in the summer of 2019.
Originally initiated by three men, Aloys Le Claquin, André Raibaut, and Xavier Bodigue, with the desire to create an alternative, vibrant project where cultural actions, community life, seasonal and family dining, and truly contemporary unique accommodations would blend together.
The first cabins are surprising and exclusive as they were all designed and built by final-year students from Ensa, the École nationale supérieure d’architecture de Nantes (Solid Thinking 2017 and 2018).
Will you figure out how to reach the Keravan, this blue caravan perched atop a menhir, just 6 kilometers away from the Carnac alignments?
For SuperpAUsée, the double Canadian tent, the collectif Vous! relied on maritime technical solutions such as knots, splices, and the fabric of fishermen's raincoats. In the upper tent, the very large double bed (180x210) is extended by a wide outdoor trampoline. Nights under the stars await!
Nestled a bit further away, three poetic shelters also welcome tribes, families, and people with reduced mobility: Cactus, Branchée, and Tissée are sculptures for living amidst the forest.
And in a small clearing, tents and hammocks await you from May to October, while throughout the year, amusing tiny houses shaped like chicks will provide shelter for backpackers and partygoers.
At the heart of La Belle Folie, the rule of "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle" is not in vain, and commitments to the environment are strong.
Botanist Claude Figureau and his students from the agricultural high school of Kerplouz (Auray) took part in this adventure. XXL-sized hands-on learning! The large greenhouse (400m2), filled with banana trees, guava trees, pineapples, and avocados, houses the restaurant-bar-reception space, but would you have guessed that the kitchen was installed in containers from the Groupama team of the America’s Cup? And on the site, you won’t find any plastic water bottles, but rather a pedagogical garden, nature workshops for children, green electricity, dry toilets, eco-friendly materials, and three hectares of replanted forest.
With new unique accommodations by 2021, La Belle Folie plans to double its hosting capacity. It will also continue to expand its programming of workshops, conferences, concerts, and will host all kinds of initiatives that bring this beautiful energy!
