Lounging in the trees and sharing a moment of nature in the heart of the Cathar Country.
On a vast estate of 112 hectares bordering the Canal du Midi, 29 cabins to live hidden and happy just 5 minutes from Carcassonne.
Les Cabanes Dans Les Bois are a blend of the best of two approaches to hospitality: a 3* hotel in wooden cabins. Behind this concept are Odile Péchadre and Valérie Geynes, two women, of course ツ
Here in trees on the side of hills, most cabin-rooms are accessible at ground level via a walkway, but their terraces overlook the ground (from 2 to 15m depending on the cabin). Perhaps you'll have the chance to spot wild boars, foxes, or deer crossing the estate at the end of the day?
Clever, the cabins adapt to the trees without ever leaning on them and to the needs of guests to become a cocoon full of charm and comfort in the middle of the forest.
Excellent bedding, bathroom, toilets, heating, it's all there. And since we're in a hotel, breakfast and dinner (mmm... the hot dishes prepared by the Chef) are delivered in baskets to your cabin.
The Cagna and the Cassine, lost at the back of the estate or with panoramic terraces overlooking the river, serve as retreats for romantic getaways; the Cahutes are ideal for two couples who want to maintain their privacy. Families or friends will turn to the Fuste, the Isba, the Chaumine, and the Mazet (up to four people), while the larger Refuges and Tribu allow gatherings of up to five or six, with bunk beds in a separate room for children (even older ones... all their single beds measure 90cm by 200cm).
On the Estate, one can get bored, but only by choice... Otherwise, take a dip in the pool, which is perfect, heated from November to April, with jets and counter-current swimming. Games of pétanque, trails to explore on foot or by bike, treasure hunts or herbariums of the cabins, but beware, armed with their game booklets, the little ones will be the first to set off on an adventure! From the cabins, there is no shortage of activity ideas: visits to the city of Carcassonne and the Cathar castles, tree climbing, golf in Carcassonne or Mazamet, helicopter flights over iconic sites, rafting and canyoning in the Aude gorges, a caving safari in the Cabrespine chasm, or even paper-making in one of the last remaining working paper mills!
