Glamping at the foot of the Château de Puivert
Presentation
Practical information
Let yourself be charmed by the hinterland of Aude, at the borders of the Cathar country.
In 2012, Ruth and Peter left behind London and the smog: having fallen in love with France and the South-West, the couple decided to settle in Puivert, in the Aude. Their love for meeting people and their desire to share their enthusiasm for the region led them to create, in their little corner of paradise, a comfortable stopover for passing travelers: they are invited to stay under tent canopies.
At the heart of the 6,000 m2 wooded estate, the tents stand sheltered by foliage and out of sight, isolated from one another. No intrusive mobile homes or overly noisy neighbors on the adjacent plot. Inside, eco-friendly amenities and understated comfort offer a gentle break from the hectic rhythms of modern life. One can savor, amidst the greenery, the simple joy of being together doing nothing… or relaxing. The plan is simple: after enjoying some delicious barbecue-grilled food, the hammocks call you—it’s nap time. There will always be time later for a dip in the pool.
For more intense days, the region offers all kinds of activities: in front of the ramparts of Carcassonne or the castle of Foix, young and old alike find themselves dreaming of Cathar knights or lords setting out on Crusades. On foot, by canoe, by mountain bike, or even on skis, exploring the many valleys at the foot of the Pyrenees is a breath of fresh air and nature that everyone will appreciate depending on the energy spent!
