Charming residence in Camargue
Presentation
Practical information
Refined address for a weekend in Arles.
In the heart of old Arles, Guillaume Meiffren de Laugier, a former mayor of Arles, built one of the last grand townhouses of the 19th century.
This bourgeois residence, also known as the hôtel de Chartroux, is located in the historic and somewhat bohemian district of La Roquette, a maze of alleyways named after important families or trades (rue des Pilotes, rue des Salines, rue des Douaniers, rue du Bac,...) lined with beautiful character homes.
In the early 2000s, Brigitte Pages de Oliveira transformed this townhouse into a refined hideaway for lucky guests. In the 1824 house and its more recent wing, large rooms in light tones and bright lounges coexist, with a decoration full of softness and freshness, blending rococo furniture, contemporary lines, and state-of-the-art home automation.
Just a few minutes from the Place du Forum, hidden behind a tall gate, lies a fragrant garden where you can listen to the birds, centenarian trees, a sky-blue swimming pool reminiscent of a riad, a bar, a chic dining table, and a spa to unwind. A true charming retreat under the Camargue sun.
