From the 19th-century water tower to the 4* hotel
In the Sternschanzenpark district, stands an impressive 19th-century water tower that has been transformed since 2007 into a 4-star hotel. With its 17 floors, the Mövenpick Hotel offers an incredible view of the surrounding park and the city.
Under a tunnel, a 25-meter moving walkway allows visitors to connect the hotel entrance on Sternschanze Street to the reception, which is quite surprising as it is located under the historic arches of the building, 60 meters high.
The layout of the 226 rooms and suites is more classic; they are decorated with dark wood paneling, extra-long beds (over 2m), and modern bathrooms. One floor is dedicated to people suffering from allergies and is particularly designed for those with reduced mobility.
While the Cave bar has found its place in the former water tower reservoir, the 145-seat restaurant is located in a modern building constructed on the south side of the historic structure. From its terrace, one can fully enjoy the view of the park.
Fitness room, sauna area ensure a 4-star stay just a few minutes' walk from the Hamburg Messe exhibition center.
