On Wilhelmina Pier in Rotterdam, Hôtel New-York has settled behind the brick facade of an iconic building, the historic headquarters of the Holland America Line shipping company.

The golden age of transatlantic crossings dates back to the 19th century, a time when millions of Europeans journeyed to Ellis Island. An era that lasted until 1971, when the company suspended its passenger transport between Europe and the United States to focus on cruises.

Today, the hotel is in the most futuristic part of the city, but its original architecture and interior decoration have been carefully preserved. Between the stunning Art Nouveau decor and the lingering sense of history in the air, the magic works.
