Practical information
A historic journey into industrial elegance.
With its high facade covered with ochre ceramic, highlighted by a mosaic frieze, the Maison Boutet tells the story of an industrial site as they existed around the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, between Bastille and Nation.
Originally a wood factory built for a wealthy importer of exotic woods, Monsieur Boutet, the building was transformed into a chocolate factory after the war; La Suisse Normande settled at 24 rue Faidherbe for about forty years. It is said that to remove the five tanks for mixing chocolate, an opening had to be made on the second floor (1983). After a renovation of the facade, the building, raised by two floors, was converted into a study office building for the RATP—lucky them!
Paris Bastille Boutet 5* now houses 80 unique rooms and suites with crafted wooden parquet and minimalist decor, showcasing craftsmanship, custom-made furniture, and noble materials. The central staircase of the hotel remains the centerpiece of the site. Very distinctive, it was custom-made and poured on-site, flight by flight.
Another iconic spot is the highly photogenic spa pool, entirely decorated with white and blue mosaics.
Note: The layout of two of the four suites was entrusted to final-year students from the Ecole Boulle, one of Europe's largest art and design schools.
