Unusual stay in Suffolk
Presentation
Practical information
The world of modern architecture opens its doors to you for holidays.
Since the architecture of the places we live in fortunately influences our mood and perception of living spaces, the Living Architecture agency embarks on a crusade to make contemporary architecture accessible and vibrant in our daily lives.
Living Architecture itself commissions the creation of houses by architects before opening them up for holiday rentals.
As a result, we dive with curiosity into these new living spaces designed by renowned architects, with their unusual yet thoughtful forms. Staying there for a few days, enough time to grow fond of it?
The house 'The Balancing Barn' was designed by the Dutch MVRDV in the English countryside near Thorington, on the East coast of England. From the front, it looks like a small house perched at the top of a slope. But it boasts a 15-meter cantilever. The linearity of the house fits into the landscape, which also preserves the privacy of the place. In total, 210m2 for four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, connected by a corridor stretching from the kitchen to the living room, part of which has a glass floor. A Nordic-inspired decor highlights wood inside, while the exterior metal sheet façades reflect the surrounding nature.
A house to stay in with friends (up to 8 people) for a weekend or a few days during the week.
