Unusual night in a bubble
Presentation
Practical information
The astrobulles for an open-sky journey at the Ferme des étoiles.
It is THE perfect place to find answers to all the questions one might have about astronomy.
This beautiful Gascon house, with undeniable charm and restored in pure tradition, has become the Ferme des étoiles. It welcomes all those interested in astronomy and nature, in a scientific and civic-minded approach. On the outskirts of a village in Gers, this observation site is ideal because it offers still dark nights. It is also here that France 2 and France-Inter set up the main set of the show 'la Nuit des Etoiles'.
In its large wooded and flowered park, five astrobulles host lovers of unusual experiences and outdoor living. Immersed in the nature of the 'French Tuscany,' your nights will be even more beautiful. With their 6-meter diameter, these astrobulles can accommodate up to 5 people (3 single beds and 1 double bed), children are welcome; it's never too early to dream with your head in the stars!
To discover and understand the sky, the Ferme des étoiles organizes discovery courses of the universe or activities around astronomy throughout the year.
The thirty or so observation instruments - impossible to miss the giant telescope and the world's largest pair of binoculars -, the Hubert Reeves digital planetarium and the five flight simulators are all valuable tools to grasp the secrets of the celestial vault.
The next morning, a healthy and tasty breakfast is served in the guesthouse or on the terrace. The house, with its large mezzanine, library, and TV area, is open to all, as is the pool in the park.
In August 2015, the small family of Hôtels Insolites enjoyed an evening "celestial walk": a lovingly prepared dinner shared at the large guest table set in the garden, followed by an evening of naked-eye and telescope observation in the company of a passionate guide (from 6 years old). The evening took place in the park, just steps from our astrobulle. Friendliness, indulgence, and wonderment, since that night, we no longer look at the sky the same way (photos)
✯ Open from April 1st to November 1st, in July and August every Monday, Friday, and Saturday ✯
