Unusual accommodation in Brittany

Practical information
Are you looking for something unusual in Finistère? Then follow us to the Château de Kermenguy!
Beautiful getaway in Pays du Léon, between the Monts d'Arrée and the island of Batz where the blues of the sea rival those of faraway lands. On these lands of northern Finistère, we walk along the wooded path that leads us to the Château de Kermenguy, and we are already elsewhere. The large and beautiful trees lining the path shelter four treehouses, yet we do not see them. The magic of the place begins to work. The warm welcome from Sabine and Charles de Kermenguy - and their children! - takes over, as they host you in their home with great kindness and cheerfulness.
When taking over the family estate, the couple had in mind to open it to the public and host guests for unique overnight stays. Mission accomplished in 2008 with their Jonquille cabin, the first treehouse in Finistère. Accessible via a staircase, children climb it with joy and pride; it sleeps four, among friends or family, above the meadow covered with daffodils in spring.
Over the years, new treehouses have found their place in the woods. The Stella cabin, a stilt cabin accommodating 3 people, and La Vigie, the latest addition welcoming its first visitors this month (July 2014). Like a lightship, it lets you observe the surrounding nature from its terrace 8m above the ground. Turn the wheel to pull up the breakfast basket and tug on the ropes to hoist the lantern, who will be the captain?
Do you prefer an even more intimate cabin? Gather your courage - I managed it! - to climb into the Nid Clos, a cabin with a real box bed from South Finistère. It's not as difficult as it seems... a first (secure) ladder to access the twenty-meter monkey bridge that flirts with the treetops, a final ladder, and you're in your very cozy nest, even for the tallest of us.
We leave the woods to reach the clearing where you can camp in style in a Saharan tent or a lodge tent. A small path veers off to the side; we follow it to discover the romantic Bubble Castle, all white and green, without any overlooking neighbors, you can only hear the birds singing and the silence.
Judging by the smiles of the guests we encountered, there's no need to escape to the other side of the world to create beautiful memories!
