In Chamonix, boarding the famous little red Montenvers cogwheel train promises a great adventure.
20 minutes are enough to climb the 1000m elevation, and here we are facing a grandiose spectacle, the Mer de Glace of the largest French glacier (7km long and 200m thick... that's something).
Here, the panorama is breathtaking! And it's right in front of the mythical summits of the Drus and Grandes Jorasses that our igloo awaits us for a truly different night.
When the last train has departed, a gentle feeling of being alone in the world takes over. On the agenda for our nature weekend: snowshoeing and torch-lit walks before enjoying a mulled wine above the Chamonix valley, a Savoyard dinner by the fire in the famous Grand Hôtel de Montenvers, and a night in an igloo at 1913m altitude. Absolute calm and a unique experience offered by the team of mountain enthusiasts from Alpes Bivouac.

Pricing details
Rates 2015-2016, the night for two, from €246 to €480 depending on the dates. Discount for under-16s on request.
The price includes the snowshoe and torch-lit walk, aperitif, dinner, night in an igloo, and breakfast (round trip to Mer de Glace and visit not included - around €30 per adult, rates for under-16s and families).
Is your equipment not suited for the adventure? Alpes Bivouac has everything planned (snowshoes, sleeping pack with cotton sheets and sleeping bag, headlamp, etc.). Keep this in mind when booking!
