Practical information
We build our igloo in Zermatt, at the foot of the Matterhorn in the Valais Alps.
In the south of Switzerland, in Zermatt (1600m), when the cows have come down from the alpine pastures, an igloo village rises in a silent landscape. To reach the igloo village, what an adventure! You cross the Visp Valley, but first, you park in Täsch and take the train or a taxi to get to Zermatt. Cars are not allowed in the town, and carriages or electric cars are the most commonly used means of transport.
You take the Gornergrat-Bahn train to the igloo village, and there, you are amazed... this view of the Alps, splendid!
And once arrived, what do we do? We build an igloo (Love Nest), drink homemade mulled wine at the igloo bar, or go snowshoeing. Upon return, we recharge with a half-and-half fondue (Gruyère AOC-Vacherin Fribourgeois AOC) and head under the igloo.
Traditional igloo, group igloo, or romantic igloo with private jacuzzi and sauna, it's up to you to choose for this unusual night at 2727 meters altitude.
Homemade mulled wine and appetizers for aperitif, nighttime snowshoe hike with a guide, sauna and jacuzzi, dinner (fondue and tea), breakfast at the mountain restaurant, and all necessary equipment (thermal mats, mattress, sheet, and sleeping bag -40°) are included in the price.

COMMENTIt is possible to brush your teeth, but no showers are provided in the village. The site offers the bravest the chance to roll in the snow after the sauna...
