This splendid 747 first flew under the colors of Singapore Airlines before being bought in 2006 by Oscar Diös, a stubborn Swedish entrepreneur, who transformed it into a hotel on the tarmac of Stockholm-Arlanda airport.

Since January 2009, the 29 rooms have welcomed transit travelers, aviation enthusiasts, or the curious. The cabins are equipped with a flat-screen and Wi-Fi; as for the shower and toilet cabins, they are in the corridor.

For those who aren't afraid of close quarters, the "dorm bed" or 4-bed dormitory remains a good alternative, unless you prefer a double room or a family room.
The best spot? The suite housed in the cockpit for its panoramic view and private shower cabin.
