La Maison Pavie

La Maison Pavie

Unusual guest house in Dinan

Presentation Practical information
The Ambassador's house welcomes you to Dinan.

Stylish and historic rooms to relax in Dinan?
The perfect address is La Maison Pavie, whose name honors Auguste Pavie, explorer, writer, and diplomat (1847–1925), who was born in this 15th-century house with a porch and timber framing, now classified as a historic monument.

The location on Place Saint-Sauveur, right in the historic district, is ideal, and Jérôme, the host, knows how to welcome guests. His breakfasts delight visitors, as they all will tell you. Take a break in the lounge-library-fireplace to admire the view opening onto the Basilica or in the garden.

Auguste Pavie dedicated much of his life to Indochina, traveling to Cambodia, Laos, and Siam, and brought back stories, tales, and the work of the Mission Pavie from his journeys. He stayed in Luang Prabang (Laos), Angkor (Cambodia), Kampot (Cambodia), Vinh-Long (Việt Nam), and Champassack (Laos), the names given to the five rooms. They are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of the house and overlook either the English garden or the square.

Note: A City of Art and History, Dinan is undoubtedly one of the best-preserved fortified towns in Brittany, and its ramparts are celebrated. Next Fête des Remparts on July 21 and 22, 2018.
