Unusual cottage on a small Breton island
Presentation
Practical information
Come play Robinson Crusoe on the Ile Milliau, facing the Pink Granite Coast
With its fertile lands and fresh water springs, this island was inhabited as early as the Neolithic period, as evidenced by a covered walkway dating back to 3000 BC.
Now owned by the Conservatoire du littoral, it is also a paradise for birds and rabbits. Milliau was the most inhabited of the Trégor islands, with its farmland cultivated until the 1930s. The island experienced a prosperous and festive period in the 20th century when it became the property of Lucie Jourdan, a friend of Aristide Briand. After his death, the island slowly fell into neglect before the farm buildings were converted into 17-bed stopover lodgings open to hikers and lovers of this beautiful coastline.
Staying on Ile Milliau ou Ile Milliau is an experience of disorientation to enjoy with family or friends, but only when nature allows, as this island carved from the Pink Granite Coast is accessible only when the sea retreats.
After waiting for low tide to cross the hundred-meter passage from the south quay of the port of Trebeurden, you will be welcomed by the caretaker of the island, Christian, who takes care of its upkeep and its buildings. He will be able to tell you even more about the history of this island, such a lovely haven of greenery.
:: Spring 2021 :: the lodgings are exceptionally closed in April, May, and June for technical reasons.
✯ Open from early April to late October ✯
