Les ânes de Vassivière

Bohemian life at the Les ânes de Vassivière donkey farm: caravan, yurt, and educational farm in Haute-Vienne.

Walking with the wind in your hair through the beautiful Limousin countryside is great, but doing it alongside a donkey is even better!
And if the experience extends to a night under a real yurt or in a caravan, you’ll simply be superheroes in the eyes of the children.

The four yurts made of wood and fabric come from Mongolia: Kiang, Sining, Koulan, and Sarantoya are furnished and decorated in a traditional and very colorful way (for 4 people with one double bed and two single beds). The yurt camp is located in a large field, very close to the Maulde River that borders the Les ânes de Vassivière farm.
The caravan also welcomes families (two adults and two children thanks to two large bunk beds), next to the farm with its small terrace overlooking the meadow.

From April to October, the donkeys await your visit to set off on a hike around the farm. Younger children will be thrilled to ride on their backs - handy if the walk is too long! - and older ones will be proud to lead them. Especially since in summer, the farm organizes daily workshops to become experts on these endearing animals: I Learn to Take Care of My Donkey, Donkey Stories, Budding Hikers, or The Treasure Hunters’ Hike.

Lake Vassivière, the Millevaches plateau, or the Vienne gorges, so many timeless landscapes and preserved spaces to explore close to home.

One week in a yurt, rental from Sunday to Sunday / 430€, for a maximum of 4 people / includes free access to the kitchen yurt.

In July and August, yurts are rented weekly only (from Sunday to Sunday), and breakfast is optional. A kitchen yurt is available to guests.

On-site you will find a duvet, blanket, and pillow; you will bring sleeping bags, duvet covers, and pillowcases or can purchase a disposable linen kit at reception.
