Unusual cabins in the middle of the woods
Presentation
Practical information
My cabin in Corrèze, modern and eco-friendly.
In a remarkable natural setting of 40 hectares, where dense and lush vegetation, deciduous trees, conifers, and undergrowth coexist, numerous paths lead you to the Dagues stream. It winds through the Domaine de Salagnac and, if you follow it, it will take you to the remains of a small mill and the crayfish in its pond.
In this Corrèze forest, near Tulle, the seasonal colors are vibrant—from the tender green of spring to the magnificent orange hues of some trees in autumn—and the rustling of the wind in the branches or that of our footsteps in the undergrowth awakens our senses.
It is in this nature so dear to her that Apolline Terrier chose to immerse her cabins with modern architecture.
Perched on metal stilts on the hillside and widely open to the outside thanks to impressive bay windows, these cabins overlook the surrounding forest. Here you are in perfect communion with nature.
The question of ecology was not forgotten in this project. Built by local companies, these cabins are environmentally friendly and encourage energy savings. There are six of them, perfectly integrated into the wooded site with their untreated larch wood cladding. Arranged in a row, the cabins (24 m2) and their beautiful terrace (16 m2) overlook the valley without ever disturbing each other.
Inside, dominated by blonde, gray, or ash wood, a double bedroom (television), a large colorful Italian shower, a living room (sofa bed, iPod/iPhone docking station), and its modern kitchen area (and BBQ!) can accommodate up to 4 people. The sober and minimalist furniture almost fades into the background before the view offered by nature.
Undoubtedly, nature lovers who do not compromise on comfort and modernity have found their cabin at the Domaine de Salagnac to read or stroll. But also to take cooking or pottery classes, get a massage, sail on a barge or canoe, wander through the nearby villages of Gimel, Saint-Augustin, Sarran, Corrèze... The reception cabin and your hosts will guide you.
Good to know: the layout of cabin #6 is adapted for people with reduced mobility and hearing impairments.
