Sleeping in a floating sphere in Japan
Presentation
Practical information
Night aboard a floating capsule, where hospitality and attractions combine to provide new sensations.
In this country, always at the forefront of technological advancements, the hospitality sector benefits from surprising innovations, even disorienting for our Western culture, like the capsule hotels in Tokyo. But this time, this hotel plans to let us slowly drift aboard its capsule rooms.
The future Mizukami Hotel was designed by and for the Huis Ten Bosch theme park, which recreates a Dutch city on the island of Hario, not far from Nagasaki.
Designed as small autonomous spherical boats equipped with real hotel rooms of about 38m2, the rooms drift during the night. The unique experience will be to sleep on the water and wake up near one of the new attractions being developed on the island recently purchased by the park in Omura Bay, about 6 km away.
It is already in this park - also at the forefront of technology - that the Henn-na Hotel opened, the first hotel in the world to be run by robots, be they porters, receptionists, or housekeepers.
