Unusual hotel project in Barcelona
Presentation
100 m high for a climbing wall hotel, the suspended project.
"Barcelona Rock Hostel", a project by Hugon Kowalski from the UGO Architecture & Design studio (2011) envisioned hosting climbers from around the world in what could have become a new symbol of Barcelona. A 100-meter-high tower, reminiscent of an iconic peak of the Monserrat mountain, the "Cavall Bernat," and the stones that were used to build the Old Town.
In this project, this stone tower covered with gardens offered facilities for training, a swimming pool, gym, spa, bar, cinema, shops, climbing walls for beginners, etc.
This hotel with 50 rooms with windows and the possibility for the more experienced to sleep along the mountain - with specific equipment, of course - will remain a project.
