In Portugal, barrel means Porto!
Although the wine bears the name of the city, it is produced inland. During a visit to the cellar of a friend and port producer in the nearby Douro Valley, Tony immediately wanted to acquire this 12,000-liter barrel that was for sale. Even before knowing how he was going to use it!
Once the barrel was moved from the Douro Valley and brought up to the Quinta de Ribas, the crazy project of creating a guest room in this barrel had to be postponed. The reason? A delightful but intoxicating smell of old Port.
The work resumed, and Catherine and Tony transformed the barrel into a room themselves. In the beautiful greenery of their garden, the barrel awaits you under a shelter where your independent bathroom is located.
A stop less than an hour from Porto, near Vila Real, perfect for discovering northern Portugal, its hidden treasures, and customs.

2019 rates, from €55 to €60 (depending on the season) per night for two, breakfast, bed linen, and towels included.According to your desires, pool and tennis await you. Shared kitchen, Wi-Fi connection, and parking.
In case of bad weather, a traditional guest room will be offered.
