Sleeping in a water cabin in Burgundy
Presentation
Practical information
For guests seeking rejuvenation, unspoiled nature, and silence, Château d'Ettevaux hides two Cabanes lacustres du Château d'Ettevaux.
By taking over the Domaine d'Ettevaux, an 18th-century castle and its magnificent park with bicentennial trees, Charly, Félicie de Galembert, and their four children, the 6th generation of owners, redefined their family project with "hospitality, rejuvenation, nature, and tranquility" as the main focuses.
The castle's conversion project began with the construction of two eco-designed lakeside cabins, built from wood felled, sawn, and shaped on the property by the whole family in close collaboration with local craftsmen.
Today, the cabin on the round pond and the cabin on the new pond are small wooden houses on stilts accessible by boat or canoe.
Great comfort awaits the guests: a double bed on the mezzanine, a living area with a bench that can accommodate a 3rd guest, a wood stove, a basic bathroom (dry toilet and 40L of cold water in reserve), rechargeable LED lamps, candles, a library, and astronomy, fishing, or nature kits to become attentive to the passing of a deer, the flight of a kingfisher, and the croaking of frogs.
The lady of the house prepares breakfast and, upon reservation, a dinner made from fresh, local products that are delivered in charming wicker baskets to the dock. It's up to you to bring them back safely.
To enjoy the charm of every season in Southern Burgundy, the Cabanes lacustres du Château d'Ettevaux are open all year round ツ
