Unusual in the Loire Valley
Presentation
Practical information
Your night at the castle in a troglo suite.
Romantic destination, the Loire Valley continues to make us dream with its must-see castles that kings and queens loved to build on the banks of the Loire or the Cher.
Let's dive into history as Diane dived into the Cher and revisit our French History over a weekend in Loire-et-Cher.
Next to its illustrious neighbors, Blois, Amboise, Chenonceau, the Château de Chissay also hosted a man of power. General de Gaulle reportedly came there on June 12, 1945, for negotiations that would have led to the Appeal of June 18.
From its former function as a fortified castle - modified over the centuries - Chissay has a dominant position over the Touraine plain crossed by the Cher. And today, over the pool installed in the park!
Our favorites for an unusual night?
The troglodyte suite, carved into tuffeau stone at garden level. This limestone, true white gold, was used for centuries to build the beautiful mansions and castles of the Loire.
The duplex suite, which is reached in the 13th-century tower after climbing a small spiral staircase. On the first level, the bedroom, and on the second level, the bathroom. In between, a glass floor!
Note, on-site restaurant La Table du Roy.
✯ Open from early April to mid-November ✯
