Unusual weekend at the Castle
Presentation
Practical information
The LoftCube, a futuristic suite in the park of a 19th-century castle in the Belgian Ardennes.
Meeting in the park of a castle, less than an hour from Brussels?
On the 42-hectare estate of the Château de la Poste, a LoftCube awaits you. This suite made of glass and white composite materials looks like a UFO perched on stilts. Amidst the tall trees of the park and thanks to its four glass facades, it offers a 360° view, a closeness to nature that gives the hours spent here a truly unique tone. In the 35m2 of this large room, the bedroom, living room, and bathroom with its bathtub are combined, along with contemporary furniture and soft colors to complement rather than overpower the natural surroundings.
The designer Werner Aisslinger began conceptualizing this nomadic habitat in 2003, inspired by Berlin and its countless post-war flat rooftops, seen as spaces to be claimed.
Attractive and practical, the LoftCube fits perfectly as a complement to traditional room offerings, as in the case of the hotel at the Château de la Poste.
A hotel since 2009, the castle was initially the residence of Prince Victor Napoleon and Princess Clémentine of Belgium, daughter of Leopold II. A love story that an enthusiast of the place and a botany lover will delight in recounting to you on Sunday morning during the "Laurent's walk" (the establishment's Director himself).
At the gateway to the Ardennes, Le Domaine de Ronchinne welcomes you in 42 classic rooms and opens its park to the unconventional to meet your escape desires: a treehouse, a LoftCube.
In 2020, the Faisanderies of the estate, which once housed peacocks, pheasants, and partridges, were transformed into unique suites, 6 caravans were grouped around the bivouac fire, and an outdoor wellness area opened its doors the same year: two saunas, a hammam, a heated pool (28°), and a hot bath (38°) are exclusively reserved for guests.
..:: Unusual novelty 2021: a hut, like a nest, is the latest refuge for night owls ::..
