During a journey through these lands of nature and culture, a genuine windmill offers the opportunity to host guests for a night in the picturesque village of Onderdendam. Today known for its restaurant with renowned cuisine, this traditional octagonal-shaped mill hides in its old attic a spacious double room. From its windows, the view of the Boterdiep canal and the village is delightful.
While traces of a mill at this location date back to 1616, the current flour mill was built in 1855 and has been perfectly restored.
