In the 18th century, sugar from the West Indies arrived through Nantes. This gave rise to a thriving confectionery and biscuit-making industry in the city. The Surprenantes La Gourmandise XXL apartment pays tribute to this past full of lollipops and candy sticks. The jars filled with sweets scattered throughout the rooms will surely remind us of it.
