Unusual night at the EchOlogia leisure park
Presentation
Practical information
Meeting of tourism, ecology, and heritage at the gates of Laval.
Here are the translations: Here are the translations: Two childhood friends who followed through on their idea!
Guillaume Beucher and Vincent Brault carried out the project of creating a unique and unusual human adventure in their department of Mayenne. These nature and water enthusiasts decided to rehabilitate the old lime quarries of Louverné and the adjacent workers' village, whose operations ended in 1963.
It took the precious help of their loved ones and courage for this project to materialize, opening to the public in April 2012. An ecological and tourist site rewarded with the 2012 Responsible Tourism Trophy Award and the 2017 Sustainable Tourism Palms (Leisure category).
Across 70 hectares of nature, 14 unusual accommodations have found their place to extend the visit to the Natur'eau Parc: four Prospector tents, three 'cliff' wooden cabins overlooking the quarry, a 'forest' cabin, and two 'treehouse' cabins on stilts located among the trees, two floating cabins for isolation on the water, accessible only by canoe or rowboat. Since 2016, the old stone powder magazine, where gunpowder used in the quarries was stored, has been transformed into an atypical room. Our favorite cabin, because it is absolutely unique, remains the Digue; it almost seems to perch in perfect balance between the sky and water.
On the culinary side, it's naturally all about fresh, seasonal, and local products served in generous organic terroir baskets or delicious meal trays from a Laval caterer. The (always) organic breakfast is delivered to your cabin door. It's the perfect way to take the time to follow guided nature or heritage tours, participate in life-sized outdoor activities (canoeing, archery, fishing, flipper swimming), or join the events (rallies, flea markets, markets) organized throughout the season. In its own way, EcHOlogia works to raise awareness of our eco-citizen duties to build, live, inhabit, and produce in a healthy and preserved environment.
Note: to access EcHOlogia, entry is neither paid nor free but open, supportive, and participatory. Thank you on their behalf!
