Sleeping in a former convent
Presentation
Practical information
In this former 15th-century convent in the center of Maastricht, Gothic and design are in harmony.
In this sumptuous architectural complex that served as a convent and church for the Order of the Crosiers since its creation in 1438, the contrast between history and design is striking.
The 60 rooms of the Kruisherenhotel 5* are today in a unique style that gives them a contemporary character.
The nave of the former church features a mezzanine where breakfast is served, and whose large windows - a legacy of the church's former choir - offer a breathtaking view of Maastricht. Stunning illuminated objects, designed by German light artist Ingo Maurer, provide the finishing touch, both inside and outside the building.
All rooms are adorned with artworks and a personal poem, a contemporary touch thanks to Philippe Starck, Le Corbusier, or Ingo Maurer, custom-made beds (and what measurements!) and luxury bathrooms.
At 3 hours from Paris by Thalys, it is the ideal destination for a few days of relaxation.
