Unusual night in Berlin
Presentation
Practical information
At Propeller Island City Lodge, you will travel into the universe of Lars Stroschen. This artist offers you the chance to sleep in a work of art. Simply insane.
Stroschen imagined and meticulously designed the drawings, decorative objects, and furniture to immerse you in a series of unique, phantasmagorical atmospheres.
A step back in time…
Even as a child, Lars Stroschen had a passion for drawing, images, and sounds. Naturally, he pursued Visual Communication studies at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts while working as a photographer and sound engineer. It was during this time that he began collecting sounds during his travels, forming the foundation of his experimental works. As a composer of electronic music for radio, he sold his first pieces in Germany and then in France. From then on, all his projects were published under PROPELLER ISLAND, influenced by Jules Verne's Extraordinary Voyages.
A few CDs and creations later, in order to establish his own studio and develop his musical projects, Stroschen "transformed" two rooms of his apartment to rent them out. Thus, the first rooms of the City Lodge were born!
The success was such, especially in England, that he no longer had time for his projects. Hoping to delegate this new activity and return to his studio, he persisted and renovated an old guesthouse… for 5 years. My favorites? The "Upside-Down" room (max 4 people), where the bed and all the furniture are suspended from the ceiling, and the "Mirror Room," which lives up to its name as you find yourself in a kaleidoscope.
