Design and unusual hotel in Marseille
Presentation
Practical information
An exceptional hotel. For its luxury in all simplicity or for its private beach?
On the Pierre-Puget course, in the heart of the chic district, a noble residence dating from the late 19th century reflects the family history of its owners. Since the sunny days of 2014, it has opened to the public, where savvy tourists and Marseille aesthetes gather.
New floor, new patio with a vertical garden, modern materials (concrete, steel, aluminum, glass, etc.), and 20th-century design furniture, the renovation is daringly contemporary.
The grand lounges, between pastries and a large fireplace topped with a mirror, have become a bar and a lounge. The monumental marble staircase, highlighted by a bronze railing and twelve chandeliers by Paolo Rizzatto, leads to the house's upper floors.
For the 20 bright and spacious rooms, the two founders and architects Claire Fatosme and Christian Lefèvre (the 2C) have also selected artists, designers, and publishers from the 20th and 21st centuries. We are especially charmed by the 4th floor and its two rooms extended by a balcony and a breathtaking view of the city's symbol, Notre-Dame de la Garde.
Art gallery hotel, music venue, this truly unique hotel hosts ephemeral events in an eclectic program over tea, brunch, or a glass of wine in the evening (programming here)
Yet, this hotel hides another secret, a private beach.
A boat chartered by the C2 takes you off the coast of Malmousque harbor and its traditional fishing boats to reach Degaby Island. White rocks and a Vauban fort perched on the sea, the perfect spot to discover Marseille from a new perspective, to escape, to snorkel, or to enjoy a tête-à-tête with the Big Blue...
