The desert is not always made of sand dunes. The landscapes of Norway's Telemark are proof of this. Granite rocks line the horizon. The sky reflects endlessly in the mountain waters. Or is it the other way around?
Far from all human life, perched on stilts by the lake, stand the yurts of the Canvas Hotel. Their interiors are warm refuges: thick blankets, embroidered fabrics, wicker chairs... By the stove, it feels good to rest while listening to the crackling fire. In the bathtubs placed on the pontoon, one can enjoy a hot bath, become intoxicated by the beauty of the place, and forget time.
Hours pass peacefully with a yoga class, mountain biking, kayaking, or hiking. The wild beauty of the Norwegian lands is an ever-renewed spectacle: discovering each lake, climbing each new crest is awe-inspiring. Everywhere, one succumbs to the incredible power of breathtaking landscapes.
After the splendid sunset, dinner is served in the large communal yurt in a convivial atmosphere. Evenings by the fire are sometimes enhanced by a musical jam session with musicians from around the world. And the craft beer brewed on-site tastes even better when shared.
