Luxury cabin at Château de Saint-Paterne
Presentation
Practical information
Unusual castle life in the Sarthe to experience as a couple or with family.
Between the Loire and Normandy, at the edge of the Perche, a wonderful château delights in surprising us during a delightful getaway.
Ségolène and Charles-Henry de Valbray welcome us into their Renaissance-era home, which is said to have hosted the secret love affairs of Henri IV. We are immediately drawn into the romantic charm of the place.
Unique rooms with classic or reimagined decor, a carefully curated blend found throughout every room of the family château. To perfect the moment, dinner is served by candlelight in a dining room styled as a cabinet of curiosities. In the kitchen, Charles-Henry de Valbray, the master of the house and also the author of cookbooks.
In the large park with centuries-old trees, there is a beautiful heated pool, games for children and adults, and... a Datcha built from larch wood, hidden from view, with a sauna and a terrace jacuzzi. With ingenious pulleys, the shutters open during the day to reveal the park and close at night to create an intimate atmosphere around the wood stove.
A little closer to the château, the walls of the former Orangerie house a vast 55 m² suite decorated with a dreamlike panorama of greenery that was once used in the 19th century at the Barcelona theater.
At the château, on the park side, la Chambre Madame is also full of charm and flair with its curved doors, canopy bed, and clawfoot bathtub in a boudoir. Simply exquisite.
The question is which room to choose ツ
